A visit to where our Teaware is made.

It had been a while due to pandemics, building our tea space in Byron and tending to the first year of opening Cloud Hidden widely to the community. Recently we found a small window to head back to Taiwan, to visit our dear friend and talented pottery artist Peter Kuo. For those who aren't familiar with his work, he is a nationally recognised artist, having featured in many exhibitions, his unique touch on modern pottery is not only seen but felt in the Teaware he creates for us at Cloud Hidden.

All of our Teapots, Kettles, Tea Bowls and other Chaxi collection pieces are all made by the hands of Peter. His work is a craft of dedication, passion and innovation as he weaves old and new together to create pieces that you may enjoy for life, as you brew beautiful bowls of tea. If cared for they could last lifetimes.

The Teaware we buy has the potential to outlive us and our duration of being alive. Which is rare and deeply moving if you contemplate it. A teapot you buy made with care and precision, which brews tea for you in your lifetime, can then be passed on to others, hundreds of years from now.

The personable, small-scale production with the lengthy amount of time and patience required to make one teapot, tea bowl or kettle alone is all too rare in the world today and is part of the reason that Teaware can be quite an investment in our life. The value in our wares crafted directly from the single hands of Peter is invaluable.
To brew tea with wares that have been imbued with a labour of heart and care is worth valuing and when one may contemplate on the human and the slowness in creating each piece, you will find the process of slowly collecting your own Teaware elating.
We extend our appreciation to Peter and his family for continuously creating pieces that inspire those who share their practice of tea through his craft.
